Since 1991 our company has been dedicated to spreading among our Learning Partners (LP) and clients the accelerated learning methodology. One of the distinctive elements of this powerful methodology is the Cycle we follow when it comes to facilitating: The Accelerated Learning Cycle
«That is why the accelerated learning cycle template is based on a set of questions that will have answers unique to the group, the needed skills, and the desired objectives.» – Gail Heidenhain
First phase – Preparation of Learning Partners
Our body language and everything in the learning environment transmit a message to our LPs. That is reason we intentionally try to develop a positive experience to everyone.
Learning Partners’ preparation implies:
- Organize activities preliminary to the LE. Also, we provide our LPs information about aspects that contribute to make them feel comfortable (calendar of activities, schedule, dress code, etc.)
- Prepare a welcoming and comfortable environment for the LPs.
- Decorate the place and include positive suggestion on the walls.
- Prepare the LPs, physically and emotionally, through activities to focus, relax, activate and motivate them to learn.
Second phase – Emotional connection with our LPs
Ii is common that our LPs face the Experiences with a perception that the learning will not be significant to their lives. At this phase of the Cycle, we provide our LPs a sample of the topic to make them discover the relevance of the content before exposing it.
Objectives of this phase:
- Motivate LPs to learn.
- Produce a de-suggestion towards the LPs’ limitative beliefs.
- Establish the LPs’ emotional connection towards the content.
- Move from the known to the unknown.
- Create a commitment to learn.
Third phase – Creative presentation of content
We introduce the new content through techniques and activities adapted to the LPs. Also, they should be interesting, participation oriented and fun. These can be simulations, discovering activities, participative presentations, demonstrations, readings, among others.
Fourth phase – Activation
During activation, LPs’ learning must be:
- Practice: activities or games where the LPs practice the new content while guided by the Facilitator. These can individual or in groups.
- Implementation: gives the LPs the opportunity to show the learned skills and abilities. These are activities to establish a connection with our LPs’ reality, by motivating executions similar to their jobs. Performance is always implied.
Fifth phase – Integration
It prepares the LPs to transfer the learned content to their real life. It implies:
- Review.
- Integrate.
- Reflect.
- Celebrate.
Learning Partners summarize what they have learnt, talk about how they will apply it, become aware of the emotions they felt, examine doubts and share the answers they found.
Isn’t this cycle wonderful for a comprehensive and happy learning?
